The world watched in horror as news broke of the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on Friday, March 28, 2025. What began as tremors in the early hours escalated into a full-blown humanitarian crisis, affecting thousands across Myanmar, Thailand, and parts of China.
In Myanmar alone, more than 3,000 people have died, and over 4,500 are reported injured. With rescue operations ongoing, these numbers are expected to rise. Mandalay, one of the worst-hit areas, witnessed buildings collapse like dominoes and families being torn apart.
While Myanmar reels from this catastrophe, the global response remains critical. Countries, NGOs, and individuals must step up with medical supplies, food, shelter, and technical support for search and rescue operations.
Now is not the time for silence. We must amplify the voices of those affected, raise awareness on international platforms, and donate generously to reputable charities offering aid on the ground.
This disaster is not just Myanmar’s tragedy—it is a call to humanity. Let’s answer it.
